Optical bonding has been around since the 1990s and is a technology that has been adopted in many different industries. It is defined as the permanent joining of two optically clear materials with an adhesive, such as silicone gel, epoxy or urethane The result is a hermetic seal that protects the internal components from dust, water, and other contaminants.
There are many benefits to optical bonding, including improved durability, better optical clarity, and reduced reflection. This technology can be used on LCDs, touchscreens, and other display devices.

It is necessary for all products exposed to a potentially hazardous environment to be ATEX certified. To be ATEX certified, you must isolate one side of the fire triangle. Oxygen, heat or fuel.
Display Technology can achieve this with their optical bonding solution, Vacubond.
Vacubond enables void exclusion bonding to reduce the amount of oxygen within an industrial display.
